Problem
Poplar Pulmonary Wellness Inc. is on a mission to provide respiratory therapy to all British Columbians who need it. However, there is a lack of understanding on what characteristics are needed to achieve the best outcomes for virtual programs. The goal was to identify the characteristics through existing literature using a systematic review protocol.
Services Provided
Through mutual agreement and consultative process, Popular Pulmonary identified the articles to be included. As a consultant, services were provided to extract the data from the articles, synthesize the data and identify patterns in the literature on what characteristics support virtual pulmonary rehabilitation.
Deliverables
A written report summary, data tables, and a visual infographic-style presentation of the results was provided.

Problem
Public health and healthcare organizations in western Canada faced challenges in effectively delivering public advisories for wildfires, particularly to communities at the greatest risk. Timely dissemination of messages was hindered by various factors, prompting the need to optimize these public health advisories.
Process
A comprehensive provincial survey was conducted to understand the specific needs of the public. Subsequently, public health and healthcare organizations convened to identify and address barriers hindering the fulfillment of public needs. Through collaborative workshops, strategies were co-created to overcome these barriers, with a focus on ownership and implementation. Evaluations conducted at three and six months post-implementation assessed the effectiveness of the strategies.

Problem
In Canada's publicly funded healthcare system, managing resources, funding, and capacity to provide optimal patient outcomes has been a chronic challenge. The provincial government sought guidance on enhancing the integration of care services to improve access and referral pathways.
Process
Recognizing long-standing tensions and a lack of trust among care providers and public health servants, it became evident that fostering cohesive discussions and rebuilding trust was essential. An extensive environmental scan was conducted to map available services and stakeholders. A series of symposia was organized, focusing on building trust, transparency, and collaborative problem-solving. This approach aimed to address interpersonal dynamics and past failures hindering integration efforts.

Outcome
By addressing trust issues and fostering collaboration, stakeholders identified key gaps, priorities, and strategies to improve care integration. This collective effort led to the initiation of new projects benefiting the entire healthcare system. The outcome was a cohesive roadmap synthesizing shared ideas and priorities, providing a foundation for sustained collaboration and improvement.
Problem
Primary care providers play a pivotal role in patient intervention, yet addressing addiction challenges requiring behavioral counseling poses a significant hurdle. Limited time in busy clinics impedes the provision of adequate care and attention necessary for addressing addiction issues effectively.
Process
Collaborating with relevant organizations including professional associations, government bodies, and healthcare institutions, we initiated a comprehensive provincial survey to pinpoint the specific training needs of primary care providers in addressing addiction challenges. Findings from the survey informed a workshop format where stakeholders deliberated on the most effective strategies to meet these identified needs. Prioritization of ideas and strategies paved the way for actionable pathways to support family doctors in addressing addiction challenges within their practice. Emphasis was placed on ensuring the feasibility and ownership of initiatives moving forward.
